Azerbaijani delegation participated in WSIS Forum 2016

The delegation headed by Mr. Elmir Velizade, Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), which started in Geneva on 2 May 2016.

The Forum organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP is the world’s largest annual forum of the ICT society and presents special UN agencies, governments and civil society organizations in ICT industry.

Mr. Velizade delivered a speech at the high-level plenary session of ICT Ministers. Azerbaijani delegation hold a series of bilateral meetings. Deputy Minister also discussed the issues of cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and ITU during the meeting with Mr. Houlin Zhao, ITU Secretary-General.
